ROUND 2.

Remember when I posted Jun’s time-lapse charcoal of Chuco?  Well, he’s back with a heavily textured painting, offering an alternative approach to the same study.

KNOCKOUT.

Tal (DCMA) stopped by..

with Benji (DCMA/Good Charlotte).  Benji just pulled off that throat piece a week ago, which was healing pretty swell.  It was supposed to end up on his face, but thank God somebody talked him out of it.  His band’s in the middle of recording right now.  ”Last night, we came up with the song that will give us another 10 years of life.”

Javon Walker (Oakland Raiders) also cruised through.

As did Aaron (Agenda), showing his true colors.

And while we’re on the subject, by the time I finally get up here to document the controverisal Revok / Rime / Augor (The Movement) “Kool Aid” piece (it’s located on Fairfax for a reason), it’s been defaced.  As to why anyone would wanna go toe-to-toe with this crew, is beyond me.

Anyways, here it was in all its original glory.

SOUNDWAVES.

Remember the other day when I was telling you how Johnston MarkLee designed the Margiela store in Beverly Hills?  I wanted to show you, up close and personal, exactly what I was talking about. This is just the building’s exterior, but you can see how they took something as trivial as plastic white discs and transformed the wall into a living organism that breathes and moves according to Mother Nature’s whim.

That’s great design.

ALL HAIL CARDIEL.

John Cardiel and Grace stopped by The Hundreds HQ before heading back up north.  If you have no clue who Cardiel is, then I can’t do much to help you. You might as well stop reading this blog. And get in a time machine. And go back 20 years. Skate. Skate hard and fast. Read Thrasher. Especially circa 1992.  And then you might appreciate this post a little bit more.

Hope you got to drink in that last drop of sunset in Venice, John.

LARGER THAN LIFE.

Kenan Thompson (Fat Albert / Saturday Night Live) was on the porch at The Hundreds Los Angeles this afternoon.

Here, he talks about what SNL’s working on, making it in show business, and why we suck for not making 3XL t-shirts.

LIGHTS. CAMERA. ACTION.

Our Spring season is currently on the shelves, but we’re already thinking ahead.  Tonight, over at The Social Trust to shoot our The Hundreds Fall 2009 / Winter 2009 Lookbook.

Ben styles. Morgan models. Steph sets up. Paul shoots.

Fast Eddie (the real Commune).

There’s always filming on Paul’s street because it’s the rare spot that looks New York-ish in downtown Los Angeles.  Accordingly, they usually shoot a lot of 24 and CSI on this block. Not sure what it was today, couldn’t figure out who the actors were 100 yards away from the backs of their heads.

NY cab in LA. Either it’s just a prop or someone’s got a hefty cabfare to pay.
